Include certificate and fees, fire alarm requirements, carbon monoxide
alarm requirements
When available, telephone numbers, department names, costs, "lead
times", days/hours of operations of each department and scheduling
method.
SINGLE FAMILY RESALE REQUIREMENTS:
a. Certificate of Occupancy: Required on sale of one-family or two-family homes, on all rental dwellings and all commercial properties (sales and rentals).
b. Smoke Detector Certificate: Required for all properties rented or sold.

A relatively small community of working class individuals demographically categorized as being 75% white and 25% minority according to the most recent municipal data book. Based 1989 data, per capita income was $14,299; median household income was $35,742; median family income was $37,630; and, 208 persons were impoverished.
LAND AREA AND POPULATION:
The Borough of Prospect Park is approximately 0.48 square miles and is home to 5,268 citizens with a median age of 31.0 years. A portion of the Borough is devoted to park lands and recreation fields.

a. PUBLIC ELEMENTARY: The Prospect Park Board of Education maintains one elementary school facility:
1. School No. 1, located at 94 Brown Ave, Prospect Park, educates PK-8 grades.
Students are enrolled at the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, Thomas Vannatta, located 290 North 8th Street, Prospect Park, NJ 07508. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except when schools are closed. Calls to (973) 790-1992.
b. PUBLIC SECONDARY: Prospect Park is one of three municipal sending districts that constitute the Manchester Regional High School at 70 Church Street, Haledon, NJ; the other sending districts are the Borough of Haledon and the Borough of North Haledon. LIBRARY: The Borough of Prospect Park does not maintain a public library. Citizens of Prospect Park are permitted to use the free, public library of the Borough of North Haledon located at 129 Overlook Avenue, North Haledon, NJ 07508, or the free, public library of the Borough of Haledon located at 404 Morrissee Avenue, Haledon, NJ 07508.
