I. Single Family Resale Requirements for Residential Properties:
Certificate of Continued Occupancy
Include certificate and fees, fire alarm requirements, carbon monoxide
alarm requirements
When available, telephone numbers, department names, costs, "lead
times", days/hours of operations of each department and scheduling
method.
There is no requirement for C/O when it′s a single family resale on residential properties.
The Certificates of Fire alarm and Carbon monoxide alarm are required.
All applications must go through Lebanon Borough Deputy Clerk: Carolyn Fritsch (908)236-2425 Hours: 8:30-4:30 (Mon-Fri)
The inspections will be completed by Lebanon Borough Fire Dept. Official.
The cost is $40.00 (include both certificates) and the certificates is only good for 30 days. |

C/O Requirements for Rentals

C/O Requirements for 2-4 Family Homes: It′s required for C/O when it is used as rental home.
2-4 family homes have the same requirements as single family for the Certificate of Fire Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Alarm.
Each family unit cost $40.00 for both certificates. |

Sign Regulations: Municipal regulations covering "For Sale" signs, open
house signs. List any private communities within the town borders (no

II. History: Characteristics: Limited to those things that will probably
not change.
Land Area: (square miles approximately)
Population: (approximately) Lebanon is located north of Round Valley reservoir and east of Clinton. It was known in the early part of the 19th century as Jacksonville and later as Lebanonville, Lebanonville Depot and finally Lebanon - a station on the Central Railroad. The borough was officially formed from the Clinton Township in 1926. There is no documented evidence on how Lebanon, as a village, acquired its name.
The Dutch Reformed Church is on of the oldest churches in Hunterdon County.
Records of the church begin in 1769, however, the church is citied at 1747.

Other information:
Holjes-Sheppard Memorial Park. The park is utilized for baseball and basketball games and many local community activities throughout the year.
The Annual "Burning of the Greens": Neither the cold nor snow could keep people away from Holjes-Sheppard Memorial Park and the blazing spectacle of more than 100 burning Christmas trees.
The Lebanon Borough School is a K-6 elementary school with an enrollment of approximately 90 students. The average class size is approximately 14 students, with one section of each grade. It is well below the state average.
