LGBTQ Pride Month

LGBTQ Pride Month

  • As the world celebrates Pride Month, NCJAR took the opportunity to recognize and support the LGBTQ+ community by hosting a special networking celebration at the Alto Rooftop above the AC Hotel in Montclair, New Jersey. This event aimed to provide a platform for all to come together and connect, build relationships, and exchange ideas. The evening was marked with a highlight, as the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance President Erin Morrison shared valuable insights about the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community in the real estate world. Classic Mortgage was generous enough to sponsor cocktails for the evening, and we would like to give a special thanks to Tony Costanzo and Angelo Straface for their support.

  • Screenshot 2023 06 01 at 11.56.08 AMThe 2023 LGBTQ+ market is an important demographic to consider when looking at real estate. In the US, about 8 million people identify as LGBTQ+, and this population has grown significantly over the past few years. This growing population has a significant impact on the housing market, influencing demand for homes and what types of properties are available.

LGBTQ homeowners are a powerful force in the housing market. They tend to be more affluent and educated than their heterosexual counterparts, and they often have different preferences when it comes to properties. For example, LGBTQ homeowners may prefer homes with access to amenities like bars or restaurants that cater to their community.

  • LGBTQ Pride Month thank youAt NCJAR, we’re proud of our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. We recognize the importance of celebrating Pride Month as it helps bring awareness to the rights and dignity of all LGBTQ+ individuals. The month of June reminded us that we must continue to support our LGBTQ+ communities by providing resources and advocating for equality.

Real estate agents have a unique role in helping LGBTQ+ individuals find or purchase their perfect home. Agents should be aware of the needs and concerns specific to this community, such as legal protections for same-sex couples when it comes to mortgages, tenancy laws, and other real estate related matters.
