Before renewing your real estate license, make sure you’ve completed all of the state-mandated steps to stay active and in good standing.

Complete 12 CE Credits
To be eligible for license renewal, all individual licensees must complete 12 Continuing Education (CE) credits, including:

  • 6 Core credits, which must include:
    • At least 2 hours of Ethics
    • At least 1 hour of Fair Housing
    • At least 1 hour of Agency

Complete Your Online Qualifying Questionnaire
Every licensee
, regardless of CE exemption status, is required to complete the Online Qualifying Questionnaire, which can be found on the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance (DOBI) website.
Be sure to update your email address when completing the form. Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email from the Real Estate Commission.

Important Deadline: June 30, 2025
If you don’t complete your CE requirements and submit your Online Qualifying Questionnaire by the deadline, you will be ineligible to renew your license, and your ability to practice real estate will be impacted.

Pay Your Renewal Fees
All renewal fees must be paid directly to your Broker. Be sure to confirm this step with your office.

License Renewal Fees:

  • Broker of Record: $200
  • Broker-Salesperson: $200
  • Salesperson (Agent): $100

CE Requirement Exemptions:
The following licensees are exempt from CE requirements for this renewal cycle:

  • Those licensed on or after July 1, 2024
  • Salesperson-Referral license holders
  • NJREC Approved 40-Year Brokers

🔹 Note: Even if you are CE-exempt, you are still required to complete the Online Qualifying Questionnaire on DOBI.
