Pride Month matters to real estate both in terms of the Real Estate industry itself, as well as how it affects communities across the nation. For instance, the LGBTQ+ community is an important part of the housing market and its members have unique needs and considerations when looking for a place to call home. By recognizing Pride Month and celebrating it in meaningful ways, the real estate industry can signal its acceptance and appreciation of the LGBTQ+ community and make sure their unique housing needs are met.
Thank you to all NCJAR volunteers and members of the NCJAR YPN who joined us in celebration of National Homeownership Month! On June 14, 2023 we participated in a Habitat Build at The Crossings on Bennett Ave in Randolph NJ. We partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for an eligible family. Thanks again to all the volunteers that came out and helped us build a strong foundation for this family’s future! This was a great opportunity to give back to the community, make a difference in someone's life and enjoy the company of other NCJAR members.
As real estate professionals, it's crucial to create a safe and inclusive environment for all of your clients. When it comes to dealing with people from different cultural backgrounds, a little sensitivity can go a long way. With that in mind, NCJAR participated in the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Summit on June 5th and 6th, which emphasized the importance of creating equitable and inclusive workplaces.
The summit took place at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel in Tarrytown, New York, and included keynote speakers Deanna Singh, Kelly McDonald, and M. Ryan Gorman. These experts had a lot to share about creating inclusive workspaces that are representative of the diversity of our population. They discussed the key challenges that marginalized people face every day in and out of the workplace and the steps that can be taken by the industry to foster a safer space for all.
As an NCJAR member, you have the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way by volunteering for Morris Habitat for Humanity’s build day. By joining us on June 14th from 8:30am-4:00pm at 42 Bennett Ave., Randolph, NJ, you can help create stable housing solutions and strengthen our community. Volunteering is a great way to get out of your comfort zone, meet new people and make a positive impact in our local Morris County area.
