Why Does RPAC Matter to Me?
RPAC is the voice of Realtors® on a local, state and national level. It is the only political group in New Jersey and the nation organized for and run by Realtors® that exists solely to further issues important to Realtors®, private property owners and the real estate market. Home ownership is an essential part of the U.S. and state economy. Nearly 18 million jobs are supported by the real estate industry. For every two homes sold, one job is created, and every home sale leads to over $60,000 in economic activity.
RPAC ensures that laws that aim to restrict the industry are defeated and laws supporting the industry are put into action! RPAC works by engaging in the Legislature’s political agendas, building relationships with key politicians on all levels, and working with state agencies to make sure that proposed rules take into consideration the views of property owners and Realtors®!
How Do I Invest?
U.S. existing home sales fell 5.4% month-over-month and 5.4% year-over-year to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.89 million units, with monthly sales down in all four regions, according to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Higher mortgage rates, along with rising sales prices, have kept many prospective buyers on the sidelines, despite more home choices and less competition for those homes.
- Single Family Closed Sales were up 8.6 percent to 1,917.
- Townhouse-Condo Closed Sales were up 1.0 percent to 422.
- Adult Communities Closed Sales were up 3.9 percent to 53.
The NJ Realtors® Good Neighbor Award recognizes three exceptional REALTORS® or REALTOR-Associates® who have demonstrated extraordinary commitments to enhancing the quality of life in their local and global communities through volunteer service.
Eligible nominees must be NJ REALTORS® members in good standing, with community work conducted between September 1, 2023, and August 31, 2024. Individual contributions are highlighted, with necessary documentation of impact.
Winners, selected by an independent panel, will direct donations to a 501(c)(3) organization of their choice, with prizes of $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000 for first, second, and third place respectively.
The nomination deadline is September 6, 2024.
